Nobody likes having something go wrong, so here at Dorset Tech we’ve introduced stricter refurbishment processes to ensure that devices you purchase from us have the best chance of lasting years to come.
When a device is brought to us for trade-in, we conduct a series of tests. These include, but are not limited to:
- All buttons tested
- Battery health checked and replaced if below 85%
- IMEI checked against police database and network providers
- Signal strength
- GPS accuracy
- Charging speed
- Haptic feedback
- Speaker quality
- Software version/jail-broken
- Physical condition
- Touch dead spots and depth sensors
- Hover sensor
- Water Damage Indicators
- Face ID if appl
- Magnetic sensors
Once the device is traded in, one of our technicians carries out the repairs, upgrades and cleans the device. Hidden warranty markers are added to help reduce fraud.
How long does this take?
Allow 30 minutes for all the tests, but be aware that it is normal for all our technicians to be currently on repairs, so there will often be a waiting time before we can look at the device.
