This is the month before our grading so everyone is in study mode to try and get ready for the Tae Kwon Do grading. For me, this grading is a great step as we will now be seen as a senior grade and will now have to wait 6 months before waiting. After this grading, the rate at which the difficulty scales increases and things get more complicated and more demanding, so let's just right into it.
Week one was mainly focused on finding the final things that people needed to work on whether it be the theory questions, step-sparring, pattern work or line work, everyone had their own section that they wanted to practice. After we had identified the areas in which we needed to practice, that is what we spent the rest of week one on.
Week two was spent going through our lessons as if they were grading from the identification all the way through. We spent the vast majority of the second week working on getting the techniques right and ensuring that we knew all of the practical things.
Week three's focus was on free sparring and set-sparing. We don't often do free sparing so this was the main focus of the week. We went through each part, from attacking to guards and defence. We did all this to ensure that everyone knew how to defend themself and knew what the examiners where looking for inside the grading.
Week four is the last week before the grading can take place so this week was focused on theory and putting everything together for one last run through before the grading.
In this grading, I had to be prepared for everything that would be thrown at me. If I passed I would become a blue belt and a senior grade. This grading will contain off:
This would be by far my hardest grading yet, and it can only get harder but I look forward to the challenges that I will be presented with.
