In today's world, artificial intelligence is reshaping how we market. The traditional loop of ideating, refining, and creating marketing strategies and assets is gradually evolving with AI's integration into workflows. This blog explores how AI is revolutionising the current loop of marketing, streamlining processes and replacing traditional tools.
I believe we can all agree that AI is influencing the way that we do things, especially when it comes to generating things. At the moment, for those who don't use AI, the current loop of marketing probably looks something like this:
Idea>Refine the Idea>Present Idea to colleagues>Implement Feedback>Draft Assets>Create Assets and marketing content>Publish>Review the Results.
Marketing is all about creating ideas and presenting them in a way that appeals to your audience, as well as gaining more experience on how to improve your approaches for the future. With AI becoming more and more intertwined, it may be time for people to start implementing an AI assistant into their marketing workflow.
One thing is for sure, and that's that AI has access to more data than any one person can, it doesn't need to sleep, nor does it need to spend lots of time finding things out to help you with a query. AI is already streamlining processes, especially inside the creative and marketing industries. For example, AI is great at helping you refine marketing campaign ideas and can even tell you how you can leverage your own personal experience to make the campaign a success. While AI isn't ready to be our overlords yet, they sure can help us build marketing campaigns that work!
While we are not there yet, with the current trend of AI constantly getting better and better we could see some serious improvements in the coming years, but for now here is what I believe could be replaced in the marketing area.
When we talk about marketing assets, we mean content or assets that are made solely for marketing purposes. These pieces of content don't have to be of the best quality; they just have to get the job done. Many people don't mind if marketing content is used, and many businesses don't have the resources to hire a brand designer.
Another key thing that Generative AI seems pretty good at is it's way of interprating and applying concepts. A little while back I gave a Generative AI model a complete brief on our company (the services, ethos, type of customers, marketing angles and some examples of previous campaigns we have done). I then told it to create some similar campaigns that highlight our super simple sites services and in an instant I had a wide range of campaigns that where pretty great. I then copied and pasted one of them and told it to refine it for kids clubs and it made a completely new campaign. Generative AI has come a long way and if this is what it's capable of creating now, we can only imagine what it can create in the future.
Auditing tools are a crucial part of a lot of SEOs' jobs; however, they work slightly differently to how an AI might do it. Crawlers can't understand context or help make improvements to the content itself. Crawlers can only provide you with basic and generic advice, like the number of times your keyword was included on the page. Now imagine that it's an AI on the other end, they can understand context, and can understand languages and metaphors and can help you make marketing copy sound more on-brand. I can see AIs becoming SEOs' new companion when it comes to optimising pages and websites, giving you personalised and actionable advice as to what you can do to improve your sites SEO performance.
As artificial intelligence continues to advance, its influence on marketing is undeniable. From generating effective campaigns to optimising strategies with remarkable precision, AI is not just an auxiliary tool but a transformative force in the industry.
